The full name of the book is The Devil Is in the Details: The Subtlety of Satan in the Complexity of Life. The book could have just as easily been titled “Everything you always wanted to know about Satan”.

Tony Kessiger begins by explaining the origin of the devil. He then traces the actions of the devil through the Old and New Testament. By exploring what the devil has done in the past, the reader is better able to understand how the devil works in our world today.

Even though The Devil Is in the Details is a very scholarly work that could  be used as a college textbook, the book is written in simple language that can be easily understood by the average person. The author concludes each chapter with a summary that reviews the main points that were just presented.

The book is well documented with Biblical references and references from books that were not included in the Protestant Canon. Numerous references to other studies are included for additional study.

This book is not meant to be read quickly. I found myself reading many of chapters multiple times to absorb more of the material. It is now a permanent addition to my reference library.

I would recommend this book to students, teachers, pastors, lay workers, and any other person who wants to learn more about the devil.

I personally would like to see a companion book of the same quality by this author called “GOD is in the Details”.

Mr. Kessinger, are you listening?
