Deadly Straits is an international terrorist action thriller with a plot that is too realistic for comfort. The terrorist actions described could almost take place.

Mr. McDermott demonstrates his knowledge of ships in his detailed descriptions of the tankers in this novel. He also does an excellent job of bringing his characters to life so that the reader is able to identify with their situations.
