Facebook-just another gaming platform

Facebook has gone to the dogs!
Facebook is no longer a social networking site – it is a gaming platform!
When I finally got a Facebook account about 4 years ago, I was excited about being able to keep up on what my friends were doing and reconnecting with old friends. The frequent status updates were informative and sometimes humorous.
That day is gone…
I sat down last Saturday afternoon to check my Facebook account and had over 80 items on my recent activity screen. As I scrolled down, I was bombarded with requests from Farmville, mafia wars, yoville, and numerous games. Mixed in there were results from many quizzes telling me how my friends were most like a movie star, comic character, animal, or book. Over half way through the list, I finally found a real status update.
In over 80 items, I had less than 5 real updates!
I personally do not have time to spend on all these cute little facebook games and surveys. Likewise, I don’t have time to scroll through all the invitations to accept gifts that will increase my friend’s level in those games.
I think it is time to move the games and surveys to a different site. How about another site called facebook-games? If the games and surveys are taken elsewhere, we can go back to using Facebook to keep in touch with friends.
Facebook owners, if you can hear me, listen close: “I do not like all the games and surveys that you have allowed to take over your site!”
— If we can’t clean up facebook, perhaps we need to get people moved to another social networking site…
